Who We Are

Marco Rafalà is a first-generation Sicilian American novelist and writer for tabletop role-playing games. He earned his MFA in Fiction from The New School and was a cocurator of the long-running Guerrilla Lit Reading Series in New York City. Born in Middletown, Connecticut, he now lives in Melilli, Sicily. His fiction and non-fiction have appeared in the Bellevue Literary Review, Literary Hub, and Italian America magazine. His debut novel, How Fires End, was a 2020 Connecticut Book Awards finalist and honorable mention and won the 2021 Italian American Studies Association Book Award.

Camellia Phillips is a freelance writer and consultant living in Melilli, Sicily, with her husband, novelist Marco Rafalà. Raised by hippies in Washington State, Camellia built a 20-year nonprofit fundraising career in New York City, chasing the dream of making an impact with her words. In 2019, she was even selected as a 92Y Women inPower Fellow, a program for rising women leaders in New York City. Today, she prefers the sleepy bustle of small-town life in Sicily, where she can write more and hustle less.
